Compact Dry BC is used detect and determine the bacterial number in food products and the food environment, and to monitor the degree of cleanliness and sanitary safety.

Treated drinking water should be free from contaminating microorganisms. Heterotrophic Plate Count (HPC) represents the total microbial count in water, including bacteria, yeast and mold.

Traditional plate methods have been widely used to determine microbial counts, but these methods are time-consuming and require media preparation.

To save operator time and make it possible for anyone to perform the microbial count test without difficulty, Compact Dry was developed based on a new concept and technology available to the food industry and uses a simplified medium to determine B. cereus by the combination of selective agents and chromogenic substrates

Compact Dry BC has been compared to ISO 7932:2004 and certified by the AOAC Research Institute Performance Tested Methods℠ Program (Certificate No. 092201) for enumeration of Bacillus cereus in panna cotta (with raspberries), double cream (50% fat), dried baby food (cereal based with strawberry and raspberry f lakes), dried vegetable soup mix, surimi seafood sticks, salmon pâté, sliced ham, pork liver pâté, sandwiches (ham and cheese on malted brown bread), and pasta salad (with chicken, bacon, and Caesar dressing)
